Work has continued over the Christmas break period intermixed with some gliding as well. So although production has slowed still good progress was made. We have completed the LH Aileron and commenced work on the LH flap. We wanted to make sure that the dimensions for the aileron hinge points matched the wing. Getting the aileron leading edge skin to fit nicely proved to be a little harder than it looked. The vertical stabiliser is well progressed along with the rudder as the pictures show.

With majority of work completed on the LH wing, there are still a few little jobs to complete. We commenced build up of all the ailerons and flaps, while it looked straight forward, getting a nice even finish around the leading edge of the ailerons and flaps has proved more difficult than we thought. We are still working on this.
We also fitted the LH wingtip and here we installed anchor nuts to aid maintenance inspections later on.
The first pictures of our engine from RAM Performance Engines in South Carolina, USA. The engine is almost ready for the dyno test. Ron Carr (RAM Performance engines) is progressing well but experiencing some delays getting parts in due to heavy snow in South Carolina.
Rob Benton completed the cockpit seat frames including the structure for the new seat rail installation. This will make the seats adjustable. The LH wing is almost ready for primer paint along with some other main assemblies. I hope to have this done in the next couple weeks.

One the final tasks carried out on the LH wing was the fitment of the LH wingtip and wing fences. While these items have been fitted or drilled only, final installation will be carried out once the wing is installed on the Hornet airframe.
Now completed, we moved the LH wing out of the workshop for storage.
We then positioned the RH wing on the work bench which is already at the skeleton stage ready to be skinned. The stringers were drilled off and installed and then begun the job of drilling off the upper skin.
The fuel line was installed and a grommet used along with a standoff and " P " clip to secure the fuel line.

The fin and rudder are almost completed with just a couple of small jobs remaining. Work is commencing on the horizontal tailplane now.
