Well, we finished off our summer of gliding by finally getting a few days in at Horsham so we did not get much done in the past few weeks on the Hornet.
The summer has been really below average for gliding so I have felt like we have not missed anything while working on the Hornet.
I have been really amazed by what we achieved in the few days since arriving home from Horsham.
Having gained the experience of building the LH wing and spending all the time working out the next step (numerous cups of tea!), the RH wing has gone really well.
In just under a week we had RH wing trailing edge and leading edge all drilled off, great result.
Work has also begun on the horizontal tailplane and I hope to have some pictures available soon. We are aiming to have both wings completed by the end of Febuary.
This should be achievable but first we will need an inspection from Brain Ham, our SAAA technical counsellor.

Just received some photo's from Ron Carr in the US regarding our engine. The engine has been dyno tested and the results look great.

With the RH wing drilled off, we decided to move the wing to the club's workshop at Bacchus Marsh airfield. This enabled us to spray paint the primer in a safer environment.
Chris Trewern did a great job of spraying the primer again.
Brian Ham our SAAA technical counsellor paid us a visit and inspected the completed work as well the RH wing before close-up. Brian was happy with our progress and gave the all clear to carry on. The next day we returned and began the work of assembling the RH wing.
By the end of the day we had the RH wing assembled. It was great to see both wings completed in the workshop.
A small gathering of members celebrated with a few beers at the end of the day! Work can now proceed on the fuselage which has been held up due to a lack of tooling.

All for now, regards Jack
